Opening Night sold out

Nashville, Tenn. (September 29, 2005) - The Nashville Predators announced today that the team's regular-season home opener on Wednesday, October 5 vs. the San Jose Sharks is sold out. While this year's opening game will feature the sixth capacity crowd in seven home openers for Nashville, not since the Predators' second season of 1999-2000 has the club sold out its home opener this early in advance.

"We are extremely encouraged by the excitement in the community as the Predators prepare to return to regular-season play," said Steve Violetta, the Predators' executive vice president of business affairs. "We extend our appreciation to two businesses - BellSouth and Southern Ice - that purchased the remaining tickets for Wednesday's game. BellSouth will use its tickets for internal employee programs, while Southern Ice will use its purchase to continue its mission of supporting and promoting youth hockey in Middle Tennessee."

In 2003-04, the Predators did not sell out their first game at the Gaylord Entertainment Center until December 20, the team's 17th home game of the season.

A very limited number of tickets for opening night are being held for season-ticket sales. The only way for fans to guarantee tickets for the October 5 opener is to purchase a season-ticket plan. Eleven-game plans (which include tickets to opening night) start as low as $100.

Predators individual game ticket prices range from $10-$69. They may be purchased at the Gaylord Entertainment Center box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, which include Kroger, Tower Records and Hecht's, or by calling (615) 770-PUCK. Tickets may also be purchased at  www.ticketmaster.com. A service and handling charge applies to all tickets purchased through Ticketmaster, except for tickets purchased at the GEC box office.

The Predators' 2005-06 season features a number of different ticket specials including, new weekday pricing for individual game purchases as well as the creation of a Family Zone. Prices in October and November will be $5-$10 lower for weekday games than for weekend dates. The Family Zone, located in Sections 320-322, will feature $15 seats available on an individual game basis.
