Nashville Predators
Nashville Predators players, coaches and owner Craig Leipold were joined by 27 foursomes at Vanderbilt Legends Club Tuesday for an entertaining and competitive day of golf. The occasion was the 2005 First Tennessee Dr. Mac Predators Foundation Golf Tournament, one of the primary fundraisers for the Predators Foundation. The annual tournament is named in honor of the late Dr. James McPherson, who served as the Predators' dentist from 1998-2004.

Predators were stationed at each hole so participants were able to meet every player while completing their round. Players also contributed tee shots and putts for foursomes under the event's scramble format.

The day began with lunch served at noon, courtesy of Outback Steakhouse. Tournament play began with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. and concluded with an awards ceremony. This year's top winning teams were:

First Place

  • Brian Procter
  • Brad Procter 
  • Dennis Gregory 
  • Dean Chase 

Each won a $300 gift certificate to the Palm and four tickets to the Predators' Opening Night game against the San Jose Sharks on October 5.

Second Place:

  • Brad Currie 
  • John Potts 
  • Ray White 
  • Sam Barlow 

Each won a Southwest Airlines ticket to any of Southwest's destination cities.

There were also individual competitions held during the tournament. Those winners were:

Closest to the Pin: Dr. John Austin

Longest Drive: Bob Gantt

Putting Contest: Connie Herrell

The Nashville Predators Foundation strives to meet the educational, social, health and cultural needs of the community by offering unique resources and financial support to local youth-oriented organizations. The Foundation has awarded more than $1 million since its establishment in 1998.
