This Week…

The Nashville Predators return home after a three-game road swing to take on Central Division rivals the Winnipeg Jets (Thu.) and Minnesota Wild (Sat.) later this week. Every point counts in the quest for the playoffs in the reformatted Central, and with a seven-game road swing looming on the horizon, the Preds need to close out the week with victories.

What to watch for:

Winnipeg Jets at Nashville Predators – Thursday, 7 p.m. CT

The Preds and Jets will face off for the first of two meetings at Bridgestone Arena. These two teams met just four days prior in Winnipeg, during the Preds first-ever trip to the Central Division’s most northern city. The Preds tallied three goals in the contest and goaltender Carter Hutton recorded his first career win, turning aside 38-of-39 shots against. It was also the first time the Preds have beat an opponent by more than a goal this season.

Thursday night is College Night presented by Jack in the Box! With a college ID, fans will receive either an upper bowl ticket for $15 or a lower bowl ticket and a "College" gold shirt for $30. There will also be drink specials offered through the first intermission.

St. Louis Blues at Nashville Predators – Saturday, 7 p.m. CT

The Blues and Preds meet for the first time season on Bridgestone Arena ice after the Blues bested the Preds on Oct. 3 in the season opener for both teams. Mike Fisher tallied the first goal of the season late in the first period, and David Legwand followed suit in the second, but Nashville fell to St. Louis, 4-2.

Saturday night is also Hockey Fights Cancer night at Bridgestone Arena. All silent auction proceeds, donations collected at the doors, Mystery Pucks, Mystery Sticks and autographed practice jerseys worn by Preds players will benefit the Nashville Predators Pediatric Cancer Research Fund. Stop by the silent auction table at section 106/107 to purchase a Hockey Fights Cancer scarf. You can also help by making a contribution to support the cause by texting CHILDREN to 27722.

Injury Report:

Roman Josi remains sidelined with a concussion.

Mike Fisher is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

The Drakkar’s captain has picked up where he left off a season ago, when he was better than a point-per-game player, posting 61 points (23g-38a) and a +18 rating in 58 games. Girard’s performance in 2012-13 earned him the Guy Carbonneau Trophy as the QMJHL’s Best Defensive Forward.
