Whereas: The Nashville Predators have just completed the most successful on-ice season in franchise history by advancing to the second round of the playoffs, beating the Anaheim Ducks in six games before bowing to the Vancovuer Canucks in six hard-fought games.
Whereas: Bridgestone Arena was rocking with a total of 16 regular season sell-outs and six more in the post-season thanks in large part to the successful stewardship of newcomers Jeff Cogen, Sean Henry, et al.
Whereas: No less than four members of the Predators were nominated for awards this year – Pekka Rinne for the Vezina Trophy, Shea Weber for the Norris Trophy, Barry Trotz for the Jack Adams Award, and David Poile for the NHL General Manager of the Year Award.
Whereas: The team has tremendous hope and prospect for continued growth from within and without after showing excellent development this season and perseverance in the face of great adversity through player absence.
Whereas: The fans – the Citizens of mighty Smashville – proved themselves to be the absolute best among the best in the National Hockey League by virtue of attendance, enthusiasm, fanaticism and sheer volume.
Whereas: It is difficult to use whereas continuously whereas it must be used ad infinitum.
Therefore, as the duly appointed guardian of this blogosphere in the City of Smashville, do set forth these keystrokes from my hand to Proclaim and Recognize
The 2010-11 NHL Season as played by the Nashville Predators as an unqualified success in all areas as referenced above and in acknowledgement of our tremendous fan base – the Citizens of Smashville!
Signed this 17th day of May, 2011
